Mandate

Valhalla’s mandate is to make sustainability mainstream through the use of its core tenants.

To achieve such we are currently focusing our efforts on these 4 streams of thought.

  1. High Quality Media

The world is full of amazing people, initiatives and ideas that need to be seen and heard. That’s where we come in.

We are forging a massive media network of high-quality videos, podcasts, photos, articles and graphics which will give the community of change a coherent voice and a platform to share knowledge and solutions.

We also seek to focus on those who have already begun this process: so we’re building a team of globe-trotting documentarians to capture and share the stories of people doing beautiful things in the fields of sustainability and community.

  2. GreenSeed Crowdfunding Platform

The #1 issue for positive initiatives is funding. We had tremendous success using a crowdfunding campaign to fund our Earthship-inspired greenhouse, but we recognize that many organizations don’t have the marketing team required to make their campaigns successful. So we decided to create GreenSeed, our very own crowdfunding platform made specifically for (freedom culture projects) sustainable community initiatives. GreenSeed allows us to connect amazing ideas with those who are most excited about seeing them come to life.We love the communal nature of crowdfunding — hundreds of strangers, from around the world, coming together with small contributions to turn one BIG idea into reality. This is co-creation at its finest and we’re excited to facilitate this process for projects aimed at making this world more green and connected.

  3. Education & Events

We are dedicated to reach out and find teachers in the various subjects within community and sustainability and give them the opportunity to share their knowledge. This will be done by organizing workshops in local communities and share them online on our “Learn” platform.

This will give the teachers with exposure while providing sustainability and community enthusiasts’ information on an easy-to-use platform.

  4. On the Ground ActionOur way of taking direct action is by applying permaculture principles and utilising the best technology for eco-construction to transform this piece of land into the educational and community site that we wish to see. The short term goal is to establish a community centered around education and collaborative action by turning the land into a permaculture demonstration and educational site. The long term goal is to turn this land into a thriving self-sufficient and off the grid community, minutes from Montreal.

This is where we walk our talk, remediate the soil and water, forest garden, annual garden, create niches for wild animals and pollinators, build self sustaining buildings and rich community activities.
